A Fabric Building Reusing Existing Foundations at Cheshire West & Chester
Why pay for foundations you already have?
Cheshire West & Chester needed a replacement storage building, and they wanted it done without spending on a full set of new civil works. There were usable foundations already in the ground. The challenge was designing a new structure to sit on them, keep its performance, and give better weather protection than what it replaced, all while keeping the cost down.
Eurodome's solution
We designed the building around the existing foundations rather than starting from scratch, which took a large chunk of cost and time out of the job:
Designed and installed a fabric building with an integrated Legioblock wall system
Engineered the structure to reuse the existing foundations, cutting civil works and programme
Added rear sheeting and a rear gable sheet for full weather protection and a properly enclosed store
Reusing the foundations meant no unnecessary groundworks and less disruption to the site. The Legioblock walls and fabric structure then went on top to give a modern, weatherproof building.
The finished building
The council got a durable, weatherproof store that pairs the flexibility of a fabric structure with the strength of a Legioblock wall system. Reusing the foundations saved real money, shortened the build and kept disruption to a minimum. A pragmatic result rather than a rip-it-out-and-start-again one.
