Built to tread lightly
Eurodome designs, manufactures and installs storage buildings across the UK and Ireland, with a team that brings decades of combined engineering experience. From our base in Stirling, we've delivered more than 180 structures, many of them still in daily use long after they went up.
Sustainability isn't a bolt-on for us, it's built into how these structures work. Engineered timber, long service lives and covers that can be renewed instead of scrapped all add up to less material, less waste and a lower carbon footprint over the life of the building.
We hold ISO 14001 for environmental management alongside ISO 9001, CHAS, Constructionline Gold and IPAF, so the way we manage our own impact is audited, not just claimed.

How Eurodome buildings lower carbon levels
The biggest savings come from the building itself: what it's made of, how long it lasts and what happens at the end of its life.
A building's real footprint isn't set on the day it goes up, it's the sum of every year it stays in service and every tonne of material that never has to be made or replaced. That's where a Eurodome structure makes the difference, and it's built in from the first drawing rather than added on later.

Our dome timber barns are built from precision-engineered timber, a renewable material with a far lower carbon footprint than a steel structure of the same size. We use regenerative materials wherever we can and build with minimal waste, so the building starts out lighter on the environment.

This isn't theory. Our modular salt barn for Morgan Sindall at Strensham was built off site to cut transport and time on site, and saved 441 tonnes of carbon against putting up the same building conventionally. Fewer deliveries, less disruption, a real number.

The greenest building is the one you don't have to replace. Many of our timber domes are over 40 years old and still working, with nothing to corrode and very little upkeep. A long service life spreads a building's carbon across decades rather than years.

When a fabric cover reaches the end of its life, usually decades in, you don't need a whole new building. We re-sheet the existing frame, so the structure keeps going for a fraction of the cost and material of starting over. Repair beats replacement.

A translucent roof lets daylight flood in, so the lights can stay off for much of the day. Good natural ventilation cuts condensation and the need for mechanical cooling. That means lower running costs and lower emissions, year after year.

Eurodome holds ISO 14001 for environmental management, so we measure and manage our impact to a recognised standard, from design and manufacture through to how we work on your site. It's proof the approach stands up to scrutiny.

Solar panels
Roof-mounted solar panels generate your own power on site, cutting grid demand and running costs and putting an otherwise idle roof to productive use.
Rainwater harvesting
Collect and reuse rainwater off the roof for washdown, dust suppression or process water, so less clean water goes to waste across your site.
Insulation & ventilation
Insulated buildings and well-planned ventilation hold a steadier temperature, cut condensation and lower the energy needed to heat, cool or light the space.
Low-impact design
Understated colours and timber cladding help a building settle into a sensitive setting, so it blends with its surroundings and eases its way through planning.
