Two 4,000 Tonne Salt Domes for Surrey County Council
Two domes, two sites, plenty of company
Surrey County Council needed two identical 4,000 tonne salt domes, and they weren’t going up on quiet, empty plots. The two sites each had their own logistics, both were busy with other trades, and one had an attenuation pond being built alongside by another contractor. Eurodome had to deliver matching buildings on both while working around everyone else on site.
Eurodome's solution
We provided the principal structural elements of both domes and ran the work to fit around the wider programme rather than disrupt it:
Built the reinforced concrete retaining and perimeter walls
Installed two matching 4,000 tonne dome structures
Coordinated closely with the principal contractor and other trades throughout
Sequenced our works around the attenuation pond construction to keep both jobs moving
The awkward part was never the domes themselves. It was staying in step with everyone else so access, sequencing and interfaces all worked. That came down to planning and communication with the wider team.

Both 4,000 tonne domes were completed to programme, giving Surrey County Council robust, long-lasting salt storage on two sites. Delivered without holding up the contractors around them, which on a multi-trade job is half the battle.
