Sliding Roof Buildings

A sliding roof keeps your salt dry and covered, then slides open for quick, easy loading. It's the space-saving way to protect smaller salt stocks and other materials where access matters and space is tight.

Sliding roofs designed,

manufactured & installed

At Eurodome, we offer a full turnkey service for sliding roofs. From design and engineering through to manufacture and installation, you can count on us as your partner in the UK. We can mount a sliding roof onto cast concrete walls, storage pits, concrete blocks or an existing roof structure,
and our crew handles the whole job.

Cover your salt, slide open for access

A sliding roof does exactly what the name suggests. It covers your salt or material to keep it dry, then slides clear when you need to load or unload, so trucks and loaders can get in and out fast.

  • Slides open for quick loading and unloading

  • Keeps salt dry and in good condition

  • Mounts onto walls, pits, blocks or an existing roof

  • Spans up to 16m, in any length

Sliding the roof out of the way also keeps it clear of heavy plant, so there's far less chance of damaging the structure while you work. It's a neat, space-saving answer for smaller salt stocks and tight depot yards where a full barn isn't needed.

Why choose a sliding roof?

A sliding roof is built for the realities of winter maintenance. Salt needs to stay dry to spread well, but it also has to be quick to reach when a cold snap hits. A sliding roof gives you both, without taking up the space a full barn needs.

It's made to last in a harsh environment. The roof is built from a marine-grade aluminium alloy chosen specifically to withstand salt, the same kind of material used for ships' hatches, so it stands up to the corrosive conditions of salt storage year after year.

It's also a low-carbon, “less is more” solution: a light, simple structure that avoids the materials and replacement cycle of heavier alternatives. Around 150 sliding roofs are already in service across mainland Europe, on council depots, motorway sites and at airports, and we now offer the same solution across the UK.

Is this the right storage type for me?

At Eurodome, we design and build four types of structure: container canopies, dome timber barns, fabric buildings and sliding roofs. Each is built for different needs, so the right one comes down to what you're storing, your site and how you need to access it. A sliding roof is ideal for:

Salt storage

White salt & brine feedstock

Storage pits

Biomass

Recycling

Tight depot yards

Sliding roofs up close

Take a look at the sliding roofs we design and build. Every one is engineered to the site it stands on.

Everything your sliding roof needs, in-house

We don't just supply the roof and leave you to it. Because we design, engineer, manufacture and install every structure ourselves, one team looks after your sliding roof from the first conversation right through to years of use, and we're still here long after handover. Here's how we support it at every stage.

Who we work with

Eurodome works with the organisations that keep the roads open and materials moving, from councils and highway authorities to motorway depots, airports and commercial operators. Wherever salt needs to stay dry and quick to reach, a sliding roof earns its place.
