Port and Harbour Storage Buildings

A working port never stops, and cargo left exposed to salt air, rain and coastal wind loses value fast, whatever it is you're moving through the quay.

Ports and harbours use our buildings for dry bulk storage at the quayside, transit sheds, warehousing and cover for equipment and vehicles. A large clear span gives loaders, conveyors and handling plant room to work, and the structure goes up fast on constrained sites, often on existing hardstanding with minimal groundworks.

Eurodome designs and builds for the marine environment, where salt air is hard on conventional structures. Our timber dome barns have no steel to corrode, our fabric buildings use hot-dip galvanised frames, and every structure is engineered for exposed coastal wind and snow loads. Relocatable and extendable, they flex with a busy, changing port.

Anchored in experience

Eurodome designs, manufactures and installs buildings across the UK and Ireland, with a team that brings decades of combined engineering experience. From our base in Stirling, we've delivered more than 180 structures for ports, harbours, terminal operators and the industries that move goods through them.

We handle every stage in-house: design, engineering, planning support, manufacture, groundworks and installation. One accountable team takes your project from first enquiry to handover, with no gaps between separate contractors.

And we hold the accreditations that matter on port and public-sector sites: CHAS, Constructionline Gold and IPAF, backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for quality and environmental management. It's the kind of track record that stands up to port-authority procurement and safety requirements.

Whatever moves through your port, we build for it

Whatever moves through your port, we can build the right structure for it.

Bulk & cargo storage

Large clear-span buildings and domes that keep dry bulk, aggregates and cargo out of the weather, with room for loaders and conveyors to work.

Transit sheds & warehousing

Quayside sheds for goods in transit and longer-term warehousing, keeping sensitive materials dry and secure between ship and shore.

Equipment & vehicle storage

Covered, corrosion-protected storage for handling plant, vehicles and equipment, keeping your kit ready to work and out of the corrosive salt air.

Salt & de-icing at ports

High-capacity stores for road salt and de-icing material handled through the port, keeping it dry, free-flowing and ready all winter.

The benefits of a Eurodome port building

A port is a tough place to put up a building: salt air, exposed sites and rarely any room to spare. A Eurodome structure is purpose-built for it, and goes up without tying up the quay for months on end. Here's what that means in practice.

See the space up close

From quayside transit sheds to bulk stores, take a look at the buildings we design and build. Every one is engineered to its site and the sea beside it.

Port and harbour buildings designed, manufactured & installed

Every Eurodome building is engineered to last and built around your site. From the frame to the cover on top, the same team designs, manufactures and installs it, so nothing is left to chance. Here are the features that go into every one.

Built for the marine environment

The coast is hard on buildings, so we build for it. Our dome timber barns have no steel frame to corrode, and our steel-framed buildings are hot-dip galvanised after welding and coating, three times thicker and ten times harder than inline galvanising. Either way, your building shrugs off salt air for decades.

Long-lasting protection

The fabric cover is built to go the distance. Our Elite fabrics carry a 25-year warranty and standard fabrics 20 years, both engineered to resist UV, weather and daily wear. When the cover reaches the end of its life, we can re-sheet the existing frame rather than replace the whole building.

Our clear-span design puts no columns in the way, from 7.3m up to 64m wide and, on the domes, diameters up to 50m. That gives loaders, conveyors and handling plant the full floor to work, with the height to stack cargo high and load and unload without obstruction.

Column-free interiors

Accredited and certified

Eurodome holds the accreditations that count on port and public-sector sites: CHAS, Constructionline Gold and IPAF for safety and procurement, plus ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for quality and environmental management. It's clear proof every building is built to recognised standards.

Engineered for coastal loads

Exposed harbour sites face serious wind and driving rain, so every building is engineered to the wind and snow loads of its exact location, to current Eurocodes. Flexible foundations, from ballast to ground anchors, let us build on constrained quaysides and existing hardstanding.

Custom sizing and access

No two ports are the same, so we size every building around your cargo, your handling method and your site. Span, height, doors and access are all designed around how goods move through, and modular designs let you extend or relocate as trade changes or the quay is reworked.

Who we work with

Eurodome builds for the operations that keep goods moving, from ports and harbours to terminal operators, marine contractors and the industries behind them. The same engineering, accreditations and single-team service that get us onto their sites are exactly what your port needs to keep cargo protected and moving.

Let's talk about your port

Speak to one of our experts about your operation. Tell us what moves through your port, the site you have and the conditions it faces, and we'll recommend the right building. Call, email or fill out the form and we'll be straight back to you.
