Biomass and Energy Storage Buildings
Wet fuel is wasted fuel. Every percentage point of moisture in your biomass or waste-derived fuel is energy you've paid for but can't actually burn.
Keeping wood chip, pellets, RDF and SRF under cover protects their calorific value, keeps handling smooth and cuts the drying and transport costs of moving water around your site. A clear span gives loaders and telehandlers room to stack and feed the plant, and a contained, well-ventilated building keeps loose material tidy and the site clean.
Eurodome designs and builds storage for the energy supply chain: biomass and waste-derived fuel stores, feedstock and materials cover, and buildings for equipment on energy sites. We build the storage, you run the plant. Every structure is engineered to your fuel, your handling method and your site, and goes up fast with minimal disruption.
Built to keep the power flowing
Eurodome designs, manufactures and installs buildings across the UK and Ireland, with a team that brings decades of combined engineering experience. From our base in Stirling, we've delivered more than 180 structures, including bulk fuel and feedstock stores for the kind of demanding, round-the-clock operations energy sites run.
We handle every stage in-house: design, engineering, planning support, manufacture, groundworks and installation. One accountable team takes your project from first enquiry to handover, with no gaps between separate contractors.
And we hold the accreditations that matter on energy and industrial sites: CHAS, Constructionline Gold and IPAF, backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for quality and environmental management. It's the kind of track record that stands up to procurement and site safety requirements.

Whatever you're storing to keep the plant running, we build for it
Whatever you're storing to keep the plant running, we can build for it.
Biomass fuel stores
Dry, ventilated buildings for wood chip and pellets, protecting calorific value and keeping fuel flowing smoothly to your boiler or CHP plant.
RDF & SRF feedstock
Covered storage for refuse and solid recovered fuel, keeping feedstock dry and to spec so it burns efficiently and stays within your permit.
Materials & equipment cover
Weatherproof storage for plant, spares and materials on energy sites, keeping critical kit protected and ready during operation and maintenance.
Construction/conversion cover
Temporary buildings and canopies to keep materials, plant and works covered during a plant build, upgrade or coal-to-biomass conversion.
The benefits of covered fuel storage
Covering fuel and feedstock isn't just good housekeeping. It protects the energy you've paid for, keeps the plant running smoothly and helps you stay within your permit. Here's what a Eurodome building means in practice.
-
Fuel that sits in the rain absorbs moisture, and every point of moisture is energy you can't recover. Keeping biomass and waste-derived fuel dry under cover protects its calorific value, so more of what you buy ends up as heat and power rather than steam up the stack.
-
Wet, clumping fuel jams conveyors, augers and grabs and slows the whole feed. Dry, free-flowing fuel from a covered store keeps material handling smooth and the plant fed, with fewer blockages and unplanned stoppages to deal with.
-
A contained building keeps loose chip, dust and litter on your site rather than blowing across the neighbours', and ventilation and fire-suppression compatibility help you manage the risks that come with storing fuel in bulk, from dust to heat build-up in a large pile.
-
Clear-span interiors with no columns give loaders and telehandlers the full floor to tip, stack and feed. You can build a proper fuel pile and keep the operation moving whatever the weather is doing outside, from a summer peak to a winter freeze.
-
Every wet tonne costs more to move and more to dry before it burns. Covered storage reduces excess moisture and the cost that comes with it, so you pay to transport fuel, not the rainwater soaked into it. Over a season, on an energy plant's tonnages, that adds up fast.
-
Our buildings install in a fraction of the time of a permanent store, with little groundworks. Modular designs let you add capacity as demand grows, and many can be relocated if the operation moves or the site is reworked, so the building keeps earning its keep.
See the space up close
From bulk biomass stores to feedstock and materials cover, take a look at the buildings we design and build. Every one is engineered to its fuel and its site.
Energy storage buildings designed, manufactured & installed
Every Eurodome building is engineered to last and built around your operation. From the frame to the cover on top, the same team designs, manufactures and installs it, so nothing is left to chance. Here are the features that go into every one.
Built for bulk fuel
Fuel stores take heavy, constant use, so we build for it. Our steel trusses are hot-dip galvanised after welding and coating, three times thicker and ten times harder than inline galvanising, and our dome timber barns have no steel to corrode at all, so the building stands up to dust, damp and daily loading for decades.
Long-lasting protection
The fabric cover is built to go the distance. Our Elite fabrics carry a 25-year warranty and standard fabrics 20 years, both engineered to resist UV, weather and daily wear. When the cover eventually reaches the end of its life, we can re-sheet the existing frame rather than replace the whole hangar.
Our clear-span design puts no columns in the way, from 7.3m up to 64m wide and, on the domes, diameters up to 50m. That gives loaders and telehandlers the full floor to build a fuel pile, feed the plant and manoeuvre freely, even with a full store in the building.
Column-free interiors
Accredited and certified
Eurodome holds the accreditations that count on energy and industrial sites: CHAS, Constructionline Gold and IPAF for safety and procurement, plus ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for quality and environmental management. It's clear proof every building is built to recognised standards.
Ventilation and fire-aware design
Storing fuel in bulk brings moisture and heat to manage, so we design the building around it. Translucent roofs and controlled ventilation keep the air moving and the interior dry, and the structure can be specified to work with the fire-detection and suppression systems your risk assessment calls for.
Custom sizing and access
No two energy sites are the same, so we size every building around your fuel, your throughput and your handling. Span, height, doors and access are all designed around how fuel comes in and feeds out, and modular designs let you extend as demand grows or a new contract lands.
Who we work with
Eurodome builds for the operations that keep the lights on, from biomass and energy-from-waste plants to power stations and the contractors that build and maintain them. The same engineering, accreditations and single-team service that get us onto their sites are exactly what your operation needs to keep fuel dry and the plant fed.
Let's talk about your fuel storage
Speak to one of our experts about your operation. Tell us what fuel you handle, how it feeds the plant and the space you have, and we'll recommend the right store. Call, email or fill out the form and we'll be straight back to you.
